Dusty was found on a property off Highway 37, just outside of Tweed. She originally came from a nearby home and, sadly, is the third cat we’ve taken in from that same property. When the kind neighbour took her in, she reached out to her owner— only to be told “Oh, no I don’t want her”. Poor Dusty had been kicked out and left behind.
Despite her rough start, Dusty is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats you’ll ever meet. She loves to be close to her people, burrow under blankets, and soak up all the love she can get. She will never say no to a cuddle!
Dusty has tested FIV positive, but this doesn’t slow her down or make her any less deserving of a forever home. FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives and can safely live with other calm, friendly cats — or she’d be just as happy as your one and only companion. After being discarded like she didn’t matter, Dusty is ready for her second chance — a soft bed, a warm blanket, and a family who will love her unconditionally.
Dusty!
Affection level: VERY affectionate!
Energy level: Dusty is more on the chill side but will also engage in playtime
Likes: Burrowing under blankets. Sleeping with you at night. Getting pets and love. Likes toys, especially wand teasers
Dislikes:
Around children: Has been around older children and does well. She is very gentle.
Around other pets: Would be fine with other friendly, outgoing cats
Ideal Home Life: Would do well in a home with kiddos to engage her in playtime. A human she can curl up with in bed at nighttime.

Health and Medical
Dusty Springfield has no medical issues that we are aware of and has no apparent dietary restrictions. She enjoys a well balanced diet. She is up-to-date on her Rabies and FVRCP vaccines. She is FIV+, which means she will be more prone to upper respiratory infections (kitty colds) and other illnesses. This should not hinder her living a full/healthy life. She likely will have life-long eye boogers due to her FIV+ status. Her eyes do not cause her any issues and our veterinarian has no concerns for her.
