Found My Furever

Since starting Friends and Ferals in 2021, we’ve helped over 325 cats and adopted out over 250 cats and kittens. (Oct.2025)

COCO—

I had one cat already who was young, but was happy keeping to herself. I wasn’t looking to add another cat to the house. I actually work with Brogan, and I saw she had rescued a momma cat but was on the lookout for her kittens.  I hoped the kittens could be found so they would be safe and eventually find their forever homes. Fast forward a couple of days, I came into work and I saw three little babies. Two boys and one girl. Probably about 6 weeks old. It was the kittens that belonged to the momma cat.

As time went on, I found myself snuggling the gray girl during my downtime at work. Secretly knowing this kitten would eventually be mine. Her name was Coco. She was sweet and outgoing. Always looking for attention, and if you didn’t give attention to Coco, she would start meowing. But it was more like a scream, which always made me laugh.  These traits are why I love Coco. She never fails to put a smile on my face.

I was a little worried that Bea wouldn’t tolerate a kitten well. But I was so wrong, they became best friends in no time.  And I realized Coco was the companion Bea and I both needed. Coco is usually nearby or  on my lap soaking up all of the attention and making biscuits (kneading with her paws). If she isn’t on my lap, you’d probably find her snooping around the kitchen looking for food to get into. Literally….  I once heard the crinkling sound of a bag of chips. I turn the corner and I see Coco half inside a bag of chips. She’s just obsessed with anything she can jump into. Boxes, bags, the laundry basket…..

I’ve always said Coco is my little gray cat with a personality twice the size. She has become such a special part of the family. And I couldn’t imagine my life without her in it!

Thank you Friends and Ferals for being so dedicated to helping the cats of Tweed. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have my Coco Bean <3.  -Nikole M.

PEPPER—

“Pepper (formally Chicken) is your classic torti, love on her terms but when she wants it you have no choice but to give it with her spicy personality and meow that is more like a scream. She fits perfectly into our funny farm, being the littlest sister to the boys of the house. The 2 cats adore her kisses and cuddles however, the 3 dogs could do without her bothering them while they are napping.
She loves her human siblings dearly and likes to remind them that sharing human food is not only a must but she’ll remind us when it’s dinner time by sitting on the table and screaming at us until we sit down.
We love our Pepper girl and thank Friends and Feral for bring us to her 🖤” -Aliya B.

LULU & BOO—

We adopted Lulu in November 2023 and she seamlessly fit into our family, keeping my son and I in a constant state of giggles.
We saw Boo available for adoption after being in foster care for a year and thought that Lulu could use a best friend to keep her company as I no longer work from home as much. They have become the cutest little sisters always playing tricks on each other but always giving hugs and kisses as well. -Tia

KRONK—

“We adopted Kronk in 2022. We already had 2 females and thought that was more than enough but when I saw his sweet little face in the picture for his adoption ad I couldn’t resist. Friends and family thought we were crazy for having 3 cats but we couldn’t imagine life without Kronk, he was the perfect addition to our family that we didn’t know we needed.

He is the cuddliest, sweetest, most loveable boy. He loves his springy toys, feather wand toy and cat nip. If he isn’t playing he’s cuddled up on the couch, nudging us with his head for chin scratches and pets. He is obsessed with Churu’s and will hold your hand as you feed it to him. He is a very smart, mischievous boy and has learned how to open the cupboard his dry food is in, so if his bowl is getting empty he tries to help himself.

There is no such love like a boy cat’s love and we’re so grateful to Friends and Ferals for bringing so much joy and happiness into our home.” -Megan W.

NOODLE & PICKLE—

We adopted sisters Noodle and Pickle (formerly Ramen) in June of 2023. We drove quite a distance from Hamilton to pick them up and we are so happy they are part of our family. They make everyone smile and laugh with their antics and are deeply loved members of our family.

Pickle loves all food and knows exactly when it’s time to be fed everyday. Boxes are her favourite and she is one hundred percent the “if it fits, I sits” cat who will squeeze her body into the smallest box to sleep. She’s independent and determined, the “queen” of the house.

Noodle is a character who always finds the strangest places to sleep. She is full of energy and loves to explore. The classic curious cat, Noodle is a friendly and chatty girl. With the addition of our sweet kitties our family is complete!

We are so grateful to Friends and Ferals, Brogan and their foster family for caring so well for Noodle and Pickle. Our adoption process was seamless from start to finish. Thank you so much! – The Hill Family

LEXIE—

A year ago our cat passed, we went a few months without one in our home, and then one day I found your Facebook page. I read how you work a full time job and then come home to give up your time to save these cats and their babies. So much love and empathy you have for these cats.

I am glad I found you, a few months ago we adopted Lexie. She’s two years old now, when you saved her she was a young momma with two kittens of her own.

Lexie’s kittens were adopted, but she was to be in foster care for another year until we found her. (Shout out to the Foster homes)

She’s wonderful, she’s so serious, but she is also quirky and affectionate, she makes me smile every day. I didn’t realize how much I missed and needed cat energy in my house again.

So glad I found you for the inspiration you share and Lexie for the love she gives. -Diana

ARCHIE—

Meet Archie (aka Meatball, aka Garfunkel). In early 2022 I decided I’d like to add another furball to my current 1 cat household. I knew I wanted to adopt another cat, a male. A friend had let me know about the good work Brogan was doing; after some reading through I promptly fell in love with Archie’s story. He was a younger adult cat who’d been living under a shed in the winter before being rescued, but who was incredibly friendly and sweet. I contacted Brogan and after some chats decided that this was the orange boy for me; we did a meet up at one of Friends’ amazing foster homes, and he was on his way to his furever home. In true orange cat fashion he only took a day or two to settle into his new digs and show was an absolute sweet, cuddly and kooky cat he is. I often joke that he’s actually a dog in disguise because I’ve never met another cat that absolutely adores belly rubs, chasing toys, and coming when his name is called. It’s hard to picture this little orange ball of love ever living outdoors and fending for himself in the winter. I’m so so thankful that there are people out there like Brogan who dedicate themselves to animal welfare, and making sure all these special cats get a chance at happy, loving, safe life. Thank you. – Jessica M.

FREDDIE—

“As an owner of three wonderful cats I thought my house was full already. Then I saw pictures of Freddie. It was love at first sight. I kept looking at his updates and was hoping he would find a good home but secretly knowing he belonged with me. When his injured foot was finally healed I knew I needed him in my family.

From day one he was the sweetest most special boy. I love him more everyday. Just Looking at him brings a smile to my face. Considering how many years he spent on the street it’s amazing what a wonderful boy he is. He loves to sleep and play with his toys and head pets are his absolute favourite. I couldn’t imagine my life without him in it.” – Carey P.

CALI—

“Cali is such a delight. When company arrives now she is coming out to get some petting. She is very good company and has captured the hearts of all of my friends. She certainly likes to be close, but not a lap sitter quite yet. Loves her toys and retrieves them from her little basket. I awaken every morning with several on the foot of my bed. She fits my lifestyle perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better little companion. I just love her.” -Judy

KOA AND MAHINA—

“Koa is sweet as pie. He loves snuggling up and snoozing on our lap or meowing for some pets. He’s literally the fluffies cat I’ve ever met and loves tormenting his sister when he’s sleeping at the top of their cat tree.

Mahina is your classic mischievous little sister. She will try anything to get what she wants. Her current favourite hobby is climbing to the very top of the Christmas tree. She’s very vocal when she’s hungry, which is all the time. She loves snuggling up to our two-year-old when he naps, but Koa is her absolute favourite.

These two are attached at the hip. It’s very rare that I see one without the other. They nap together, they eat together, they clean each other, and they’re constantly creating fuzzy chaos. (in the BEST way)” – Kay. J
